CANYON LAKE, Texas - After days of heavy rain and devastating flooding across Southern Texas, Canyon Lake has risen to almost full levels.
As of Saturday, July 18, the reservoir is 95.6% full, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Just a week ago, Canyon Lake was only 60.9% full, continuing a months-long stretch of below-normal lake levels.
The recent flooding changed that almost overnight.
In just two days, the lake jumped from 69.4% full on July 16 to 95.6% full on July 18, gaining nearly 100,000 acre-feet of water. The lake level also rose from 893.19 feet to 906.97 feet during that time, an increase of nearly 14 feet.
As of Saturday morning, the water level was 907.31 feet, putting the lake just 1.69 feet below its conservation pool elevation of 909 feet.
The rapid rise is one of the biggest increases Canyon Lake has seen in recent years. Before this week's storms, the reservoir had hovered around 60% full for months.
